Crappy New Year

Well, I hope the year gets better, cause it started pretty crappy! As you may or may not know, for the past two years, I have had two hamsters, Bo and Blue. In November, Blue died after she had been sick for a week or so (see November post: Sad News). On the 2nd of January, I went to give Bo her nightly carrot, only to find that she had died. I realize that hamsters are 'disposable pets', as was so kindly pointed out to me, but it was still a bit of a surprise. Anyhoo, I decided to get a picture of the little critters on here, because they were very cute. They were dwarf hamsters, which means that when I got them, they were just a little bigger than a toonie, and at full maturity, they were about half the size of a regular hamster. So here is a picture of them--the only picture I have, as those things don't stand still!!

Bo is the white one, and this was about the only time she EVER stood still. Blue is the darker one in the back, trying to escape--she was much more shy, but the last week when she was really sick, she loved to sit in my hand and sleep.

So that's them, gone off to hamster heaven. :(
