Invalid Password or Username
Okay, so along with all the useless crap in my head, I now have massive amounts of usernames and passwords that are supposed to just magically appear at the front of my brain whenever my computer asks for them. Well you know what, they don't. In fact, most of them are mingling with each other and not coming when they're called.
I keep meaning to write them all down in an orderly fashion, but then I get distracted by something shiny and forget. So instead, I have little bits of paper, all with strange and sometimes confusing usernames and passwords lying all over the place. And no, I don't always remember to add on the paper what website it's for.
What makes matters worse is that I'm one of those people who draws a complete blank every time I'm asked to come up with a username or password. As a result, my names and passwords are often made up of the first word or words that come to mind, something I hear on the radio, or something I see. Then, to confuse myself even further, I combine whatever I thought of with something completely unrelated in a way that will help me remember it easier. And you know what? It doesn't work.
Every time I go to enter a site that requires a username and password (including when I post my blog), I end up staring at the little blinking cursor for a few minutes, following the trail of thought in my brain that leads me to the correct username or password that in some strange way I've associated with the site.
Having said all that, I almost never have to click on that 'forgot your password' link. That's like admitting defeat. Instead, I dig deep into my brain (past all the empty space and the useless bits) and eventually come up with the right ones.
