The Future is Unwritten

Joe Strummer was the co-founder, singer, lyricist and guitarist for one of my favourite bands of all time, The Clash. Today marks the fifth anniversary of his death. Joe died in 2002 from a heart attack brought on by an undiagnosed congenital heart defect. He was 50 years old.

The song in this video is called "Silver and Gold" and was from the last album Joe recorded with his band The Mescaleros (released posthumously in 2003)

And here he is with The Clash:

"I think people ought to know that we're anti-fascist, anti-violence, and anti-racist. We're against ignorance." Joe Strummer

"It's the only thing that's living to me. I shall live and die and be judged by it." Joe Strummer on rock'n'roll
